About the Artist
Chauncey (@chaunceychnc) is a stylist, songwriter, mannequin, muse, and good friend. SLZL says, “Chauncey reminds all that the biggest artistic creation we can render is that of the self. His own body is his primary artistic production, the continuously blank page and canvas that he shapes into something new and exciting. All of his other art comes out of the constant self-fashioning and creating he does.”
Chauncey CHNC: “an expressionist with enigmatic and delicate words, with a lyrical style filtering anywhere between lullaby and sticky pop. Often picturing someone trying to escape themselves but ending up face to face with a mirror. As a Libra, the chase of balance and the highs and lows, the lust for perfection, inform the unique perspective of a life led and lived in dualities: the mixture of naïveté and cunning, neediness and self-possession, innocence and eroticism, radiance and damage. In a world where perception is reality, constant yearning for self-reflection to process trauma and monitor growth in hopes to inspire others, to find beauty in the ugliness, life after death, and reality in the surreal.”
Bouquet wilted and fallen
Ripped jeans and smeared dreams
Grimy rap, sideways smile, blonde ponytail, denim hat
Honey Nut Cherry hole
Abandoning
Innocence
Muggy sky. Tree cased in sheer
Facade. Adorned in your sweat. Wide open. Dropping off
He can get it
Are you coming to me? Crave and craving. Shame and shaming
Pain screams so loud
I'm a girl
You know that right?
Lost in my head
Driving towards dead
Haiku you've written
An end I've read
Let's go to New York City
Kids with a risk of
Infertility
Shattering expectations and fighting Humanity
Did I forget to say
Goodbye last night?
Next time I'll try
Ringing off the hook
Cry for freedom
Please hold
Starve for love
Frosted Flake denim hat
Abandoned
Innocence
Grimy rap, sideways smile
A tree to carve
You love her
Hard
I starve
